Bronx woman contacts men on Instagram and then steals them | Univision 41 New York WXTV

THE BRONX – Two men were robbed in the Bronx after having arranged meetings with a woman and Instagrampolice said Sunday.

The first incident occurred on December 3 in the Concourse Village neighborhood, between Anthony Avenue and 174th Street.

A 24-year-old man made an appointment to meet a woman via Instagram. When he got there, two masked people ordered the man to remove his clothes at gunpoint.

The thieves took the man’s clothes and personal items, then fled in the victim’s car, a 2018 Infiniti Sedan.

The next day, a 27-year-old man met a woman, also on Instagram, this time in the Eastchester neighborhood, according to police.

Upon arriving at the meeting point, two masked people assaulted him at gunpoint and took his cell phone, coat, chain, and gold ring.

The robbers fired at the man’s car as he fled the scene. There were no injuries.

Police released images of the woman associated with the robberies.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-PISTA.

Tips to avoid dangers when dating on Instagram

To keep a romantic date from turning into a nightmare, John Jay College clinical therapist and psychology teacher Karina Rieke offers these suggestions:

Before arriving for an appointment, take the time to get to know the person through video calls and confirm that what they are saying is true.

When making an appointment, opt for a public place, such as a coffee shop or bookstore, and never leave your drink out of your sight.

The drink should always be with you, so that it is difficult for you to get something wrong.

Always inform an acquaintance that you are going to be on a date. Tell him where it is, the time and share the location from the phone by selecting the contact and giving it “share location”.

And the best thing to do is not go with that person, not get in their car without really knowing who that person is.

Also, do not share financial or personal information such as the address where you live, until you know if it is really worth it.

Remember that no one is out of danger and that you need to be in control: if you go to a restaurant, do not drink too much, do not put yourself in a situation where you will have to mourn physical losses or even your own life.
