“Bronx Training Program Creates Path to Employment in Food Industry”

A training program in the Bronx is creating job opportunities for local residents.

The organization’s Culinary Education and Employment Center has trained 1,600 students for careers in the food industry.

Councilwoman Amanda Farías was making an iced latte at Allie’s Place.

The three-day barista program teaches participants how to make all the drinks you’d typically find at local coffee shops, plus they open a free pop-up shop each month.

Allie’s Place culinary and barista programs are free of charge.
