Bronx Shooting Leaves Six Injured, including 12-Year-Old Girl
A shocking shooting in the Williamsbridge section of the Bronx left six people injured Monday evening, including a 12-year-old girl and her mother. The incident, which unfolded around 4:50 p.m. near 35-44 White Plains Road,has sent shockwaves through the community and sparked a major police inquiry.
According to NYPD Interim Chief John Chell, “We had a brazen and heartless attack by two shooters that opened fire in the middle of the street and into a crowded convenience store, striking six people.” the attack’s audacity and the presence of innocent bystanders have heightened concerns about escalating gun violence in the city.
The young girl sustained a leg wound, while her 40-year-old mother was shot in the stomach.Chief Chell stated that the mother was tragically used as a human shield by the intended targets of the shooting. Four other male victims, aged 18 to 21, suffered gunshot wounds to their arms and legs.
Authorities are currently searching for two Black male suspects. One suspect is described as wearing a black Nike sweatsuit, and the other was seen in a gray hoodie. While the motive remains under investigation, police believe the shooting was a targeted attack.
