More than five dozen injured
Senior Advisor to Mayor Eric Adams, Stefan Ringel, confirmed the death toll on Sunday afternoon.
In addition to those who died, more than five dozen people are injured, 13 of whom remain in critical condition at a local hospital, according to Ringel.
“We expect there will be many deaths,” said FDNY commissioner Daniel Nigro.
