Bron/Vaulx-en-Velin. The Heï association supports 35 young people with disabilities on a daily basis

Not a day goes by without parents of children or young people with disabilities contacting the Handicap Education Inclusion Innovation (Heï) association. Straddling the municipalities of Bron and Vaulx-en-Velin, the association has become almost essential to overcome the glaring lack of places in adequate structures with which it works closely: IME, SESSAD and schools for Ulis classes.

However, when Zineb Bouazza, a psychologist by profession, and her husband founded the association in 2013, they did not expect such enthusiasm. Since 2013, they have welcomed and supported more than 120 young people with disabilities and their families. At their side, a hundred volunteers (educators, physiotherapists, speech therapists, psychologists, facilitators, teachers, etc.), 20 of whom are particularly active. They accompany on a daily basis, from September to June, around 35 children (from 6 years old) and young people suffering from trisomy 21, autism spectrum, disability…
