Bron. The demolition of the UC1 bar begins

A new stage begins in the demolition of the historic UC1 bar in Bron, which borders the ring road.

On Monday 23 August, a 55-meter-long “large arm excavator” was mounted on the site to attack the actual demolition of the structure 46 meters high, 12 meters wide and 230 meters long. A progressive nibbling in spans, from top to bottom and from north to south, which follows the long asbestos removal and the clipping of the two gables located at the ends of the bar, from the floors below.

All of the demolition operations for the 40,000 tonnes of concrete managed by Lyon Métropole Habitat will run until 2022.
