In June 2022, there were around thirty of them when the association “Bron initiatives solidaires et écologiques (BISE)” was created. A year later, they are approaching one hundred and present a balance sheet that matches their ambitions. The members wanted to make the inhabitants aware of ecology and develop social ties on this theme “through civic, united and friendly actions with and for the inhabitants of Bron”.
On Monday, June 26, more than 40 of them wanted to continue the great actions that have punctuated this year, with the wish to do it even more in connection with institutional partners such as the City or the Metropolis and other associations carrying the same values. .
Among the commitments, both simple and strong, which form the basis of BISE, secular and apolitical, we find: “listening, respect, freedom of speech or even collegiality in the choice of decisions. »
Take action to reduce waste
The nine-member board of directors will be reshuffled in the coming days. It is currently co-chaired by Marianne Riouffret and Sylvain Chirat, also co-founders. The existence of nine commissions, each piloted by members, gives substance to their ideas and makes it possible to implement projects effectively.
“Acting to reduce waste” mobilized 25 people at each outdoor collection. That of June 10 around the Place de la Liberté, for example, allowed the collection of 16,000 cigarette butts.
“A great victory”, according to Sophie, who recalls that four cigarette butts in a liter of water are enough to kill a small fish and that one out of two cigarette butts ends up in the sea. Each commission thus brings its share of concrete solutions which range from do it yourself in eco-gardening, through the creation of an online group, friendly meetings or the challenge “Click energy and water” which earned him 1st place in the Metropolis last April.
For next season, on the program: the creation of a grain library and a “Bise” garden, the setting up of a website, bike rides, a land’art festival and cinema evenings.
