Bron City Prize: Recognizing Academic Excellence and Encouraging the Next Generation

“Promoting merit, highlighting excellence, encouraging the quality of the work provided, represent the very clear objectives of what we wish to do in Bron for young people. Obtaining the baccalaureate is an important step. If we must encourage and support all young people, we can be proud to congratulate those who stand out for their results in this exam,” said the mayor, Jérémie Bréaud.

151 young graduates, including 146 baccalaureate holders and 5 caps, were rewarded, an increase of 45% compared to the class of 2022 which included 103 winners. Which represents between 15,000 and 20,000 euros of budget, according to the town hall. “We see that the system has been put in place well, following its success last year.

The City Prize awarded to seven winners

For young people, it is a solemn moment which marks a stage in their life. The parents are also happy,” rejoiced the deputy for education and youth, Tarik Ez-Zajjari. Alongside the presentation of awards to the most deserving high school graduates, a second type of recognition, the City Prize, was awarded to seven other winners.

The City Prize is awarded to students nominated during their final year by the educational teams in Bron middle and high schools. They are chosen on the basis of their educational background, their behavior and their investment in the life of their establishment or their participation in solidarity actions.

As for the bonus, “financial assistance for entry to Post-baccalaureate”, awarded to high school graduates, the only condition to qualify for it is to obtain your baccalaureate with honors.

Baccalaureate graduates received bonuses of €50, 100 or €150, depending on the grades obtained (AB, B, TB). The winners present at the ceremony also left with bags containing small gifts and a word of congratulations. The seven winners of the City Prize, all of whom were present or represented by parents, received vouchers worth €140.

The young winners and their parents were all delighted, like Ms. Février, who accompanied her daughter, Olivia. ” It’s a very good initiative. It gives them a lot of encouragement to go even further. We are proud.”
