Brompton’s new electric folding bike weighs 15.6 kg, with battery

British bicycle manufacturer Brompton has a new electric folding bike released. The Electric P Line: Urban weighs only 15.6 kg, with battery, and can be folded within 20 seconds.

With a full battery (300 Wh lithium-ion) you can cycle 30 to 70 kilometers. Charging takes about 4 hours, or 2 hours with Brompton’s SuperFast Charger (sold separately). The 250 watt motor provides pedal assistance up to 25 km/h.

When folded, the bike measures 64.5 x 56.5 x 27 centimeters. The battery, incorporated in a shoulder bag, can be disconnected with one click. So the idea is that you carry the battery in the bag around your shoulder, and carry or roll the bike, which weighs only 12.7 kg without the battery.

The Electric P Line: Urban is not yet available on the Dutch site of Brompton. In England it is available for 3695 pounds (4342 euros). The SuperFast Charger is available separately for 108 euros.
