Over the past day, October 18, in Ukraine confirmed 538 deaths from complications after coronavirus. This was the largest daily death rate since the start of the pandemic.
According to him, the country turned out in first places in Europe and in the world in general, since on the morning of October 19, most countries have not yet updated the data. We have the last record for deaths from COVID-19 amounted to 481 casesthat was in April this year.
In total, 2,660,273 cases of infection were recorded in Ukraine (+15,579 per day), of which 61,348 patients died, and 2,337,194 recovered (+7776).

According to data on NSDC website, about 262 thousand citizens remain active patients. The day before, 2,852 patients were admitted to hospitals in different regions.

Today, patients with coronavirus or suspected coronavirus busy 40,080 beds in medical institutions (64.3% of the total fund).

The most critical situation is observed in hospitals in the Donetsk region (90% of beds are occupied), Zaporozhye (80%). In many regions, the workload of places is at the level of 62-76%, and below 50% – in Kiev, Ternopil, Cherkassy, Poltava and Kirovograd regions.

Experts from the Kiev School of Economics pointed to disappointing forecasts for COVID-19 in Ukraine. According to the head of the Center for Health Economics KSE Yuri Ganichenko, by the end of the year the number of all deaths as a result of complications of this disease may reach 92 thousand.

He noted that now the country is already approaching historical peaks in mortality and hospitalization rates for the entire time of the pandemic. Vaccinated individuals account for over 90% of all COVID-19 cases requiring hospitalization.

As reported OBOZREVATEL, chief sanitary doctor Igor Kuzin noted that the peak of coronavirus is expected in Ukraine by mid-November… While a gradual decrease in incidence is predicted not earlier than the end of this and in the first quarter of next year.
