In an important solidarity initiative to help those who need it most and with the aim of raising funds, Bröd Bakery has prepared a series of gastronomic activities to help the Mendoza Food Bank. The solidarity action has talented guest chefs: Paul Del Rio (Bodega Luigi Bosca), Vicky Colombi (The Nook and The Roti) and Diego Salvador (Francis Mallmann). The chefs join Bröd Bakery to create three “signature sandwiches” that will be available exclusively at their location on Calle Chile 894 in Ciudad (headquarters). Each sandwich sold during the action will result in a 100% donation to the BdAMza Foundation.
A day full of cool friends.
On the other hand, the founders of Bröd themselves (Francisca Costanzo and Sebastián Flores), will put on their aprons to knead an exclusive “Solidarity Bread” together with Sebastián Albarracín (chef at the Abrasado restaurant at Bodega Los Toneles). This bread will be sold in all Bröd Bakery stores, as a symbol of union and commitment of the franchise and the Banco de Alimentos Mendoza Foundation. All income generated from the sale of these breads will also go to the organization.
Bröd’s outstanding action was launched on Saturday, July 29. There, the invited chefs had the opportunity to show their solidarity sandwiches to the guests of the event. In addition, there were allusive words from the owners of the firm in reference to these first ten years in the province of Mendoza. Francisca Costanzo (owner) said: “Having proposed an idea that is well received by people and also liked is very gratifying. It is a great challenge for us to remain in force after ten years from our beginning. But above all, we are committed to continuing to grow as a team and proposing new options. Today we can say that we are very grateful that the public continues to choose us and above all for being able to work on what we like”.
Bröd currently serves more than 2,000 people per day among its ten stores: Bröd Centro (Chile street in Ciudad), Bröd Besares (in the La Bonita complex in Chacras de Coria), Bröd Boedo (in Boedo street in Luján), Bröd Bombal (Irigoyen and España de Ciudad), Bröd Viamonte (Viamonte street in Chacras de Coria), Bröd Lomas (Lomas Complex on Avenida Champagnat), Mini Bröd (on Sarmiento street), Bröd Butik (Palmares Open Mall), Bröd La Puntilla (Urban Mall) and Bröd Planta Uno (Plant One Market).
The Mendoza Food Bank Foundation is an organization dedicated to assisting more than 39,000 people in vulnerable situations in the province, from where they have already managed to rescue and distribute more than 13 million kilograms of food (which is equivalent to more than 36 million plates). In addition, the BdAMza Foundation is a member of the Argentine Network of Food Banks, a network of 25 banks that work together to fight hunger and food waste in our country.
