Broadcaster Seo Dong-ju sent away his father, the late comedian Seo Se-won.
According to Star News on the 29th, Seo Dong-ju attended the farewell service for the late Seo Se-won at a temple in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on the 28th. The deceased attended a local church during his lifetime and acted as a pastor.
On this day, Seo Dong-ju, dressed in black and seated at the farewell service, delivered a eulogy with a sad expression. After his mother Seo Jeong-hee’s divorce, he had no contact with the deceased for a long time, but after hearing the news, he headed to Cambodia to mourn the deceased.
In addition to Seo Dong-ju, Seo Se-won’s wife and nephew are known to have attended the farewell service. Church acquaintances who had a relationship with the deceased were also present to express their condolences.
Park Hyeon-ok, former head of the Korean Association, who shared the joys and sorrows of the deceased in Cambodia, said, “It is very sad. Let us send Pastor Se-Won Seo with all our hearts.” Although he left, he will live happily and joyfully forever in a pain-free heaven.”
Meanwhile, the late Seo Se-won died of cardiac arrest after receiving an IV injection at the MiRae Polyclinic in Phnom Penh on the afternoon of the 20th. He is 67 years old.
The specific cause of death has not been revealed, but it has been reported that the deceased suffered from diabetes as a chronic disease. The bereaved family initially planned to transport the deceased to Korea, but the conditions for the mortuary in Cambodia were so poor that they eventually decided to cremate it.
The mortuary of the late Seo Se-won is set up in Room 20 of the funeral hall at Asan Medical Center in Seoul. It is held by the president of the Korea Comedy Association, and condolences are available from 1:00 pm on the 30th. The funeral will be on May 2nd.
