In the current round of funding for the expansion of high-speed Internet, the municipality is receiving state funding of EUR 2,750,563. This was announced by the ministry responsible for digitization in Stuttgart. With the funding provided by the state of Baden-Württemberg and the funding that has already been approved by the federal government, Gerstetten can now implement the fiber optic connection of smaller hamlets such as Sontbergen and various resettlements as well as the industrial areas in Gerstetten and Dettingen, according to the Green MP in the state parliament, Martin Grath.
100 million for the whole country
With more than 100 million euros, the current handover round is the largest in the history of broadband funding in Baden-Württemberg. A total of 77 broadband funding notices in the amount of around 101.2 million euros were issued. 51 grant recipients in 21 rural districts benefit from the funding. Despite the great challenges of the corona pandemic for Baden-Württemberg, the promotion of fast internet remains at a record level.
