BRK Erding honors blood donors

In Bavaria we need around 2,000 blood donations per day. The BRK therefore honored particularly loyal blood donors. Donating blood is essential – and uncomplicated.

Moosinning – In a celebratory ceremony at the Gasthof Oberwirt in Moosinning, blood donors were honored by the BRK for their loyalty and special commitment. Eight people received an award for donating 50 blood, recognizing their commitment to the community.

Among those honored were Helmut Holzmann, Günter Rangitsch, Bernhard Lanzinger, Agnes Pointner, Sophie Bellefontaine, Johann Neumaier, Nikolaus Sebastian Algasinger and Markus Heilmaier. Through their regular blood donations, they have all contributed to saving lives and securing blood donations in Bavaria. Jürgen Loher, BRK chairman, handed out certificates and badges of honor to those present.

Andreas Lindner, BRK district manager, gave the guests of honor a lot of interesting information about blood donation. Bavaria needs around 2,000 blood donations per day. Around a third of the population relies on a blood donation once in their life.

Donating blood is essential – and uncomplicated

The Bavarian Red Cross blood donation service is a non-profit organization. There are around 5,500 donors in the Erding district. Blood can be donated on 31 dates in Erding, Dorfen, Taufkirchen/Vils, Isen, Wartenberg and recently Oberding. The professional blood donation employees, doctors and volunteers from the Erding district association work hand in hand.

The honorees emphasized the advantages of the blood donation app “Blood Donation – Donor Service”, which makes it easier to find appointments in the region and make reservations easily. Thanks to the appointment reservation, blood donation is now particularly time-saving – the entire process usually takes less than an hour. /dap
