Marcel van Roosmalen (56) was one of the lucky guests at the wedding of Britt Dekker (32) and her husband Max Apotowski last weekend. In his podcast ‘Weer een dag’ he talks about ‘the most romantic wedding he has ever seen’.
“I’ve never seen anything so romantic”
When Marcel thinks back to the wedding, ‘tears come to his eyes again’. “I’ve never seen anything so romantic,” he says. Despite Britt being a famous Dutch person and knowing a lot of people, she wanted to keep the wedding intimate. Only ‘the cream of the crop’ were invited. “Somehow, I was among them,” says Marcel.
The journalist describes the wedding as ‘the amusement park of romance’ and of course her horses were also there. Her most famous (tal) horse George even had a special role. “He had a basket in his mouth with huge wedding rings.”
According to Marcel, Britt wore a white wedding dress by an Iranian designer and Max wore a ‘beautiful gray suit’ who ‘stood on a stage waiting for Britt in a sea of flowers and friendliness’.
Jochem van Gelder was the registrar and although Marcel was initially suspicious of his skills, he was eventually approved. “He is a master at it. From the moment he held the microphone, there was a kind of amiability. I started to think very differently about that man.”
Marcel calls it one of the ‘most romantic and beautiful’ weddings he has ever seen. “I needed the whole Sunday to recover.”
