Bitcoins are a touchy subject. Britt and her best friend have been scammed by the gardener they meet at the stables. On her advice, they invest in cryptocurrencies. “Together we invested 1500 euros and he promised us it would be a ton. My girlfriend has already bought an expensive branded bag.”
The man seems to have anything but the right intentions with the two friends’ money. “That man turned out to be a fat crook, he cheated us hard. He took off with the northern sun and our money. Lesson learned. Besides, what can you do with a Louis Vuitton bag in the barn?”
Britt doesn’t get an ear stitched on that easily these days. She also knows how to work her way up in creative ways. In 2019, for example, you conducted the funniest contract negotiation in Hilversum asking John de Mol for a dressage horse in exchange for making TV shows.
With the help of Erland Galjaard, Talpa’s strategic consultant, he succeeds. During the first two years of her Mole contract, Britt doesn’t earn a dime, but she does have stud George on loan. With him she rides dressage at a high level – she won bronze and silver at the European Championships for Iberian Horses – and trains in the best stables.
He has no regrets about the special deal. “So if everyone thinks you’re crazy? Then you think out of the box.”
