It was last Wednesday that Britney Spears (39) in a court hearing talked about the guardianship she is subject to.
There, the former pop star stated that she no longer wants to be under the guardianship of her father, James Parnell Spears, and that she wants control over her own life.
The father has been Spears’ guardian for 13 years, and has had control over everything from personal chores to her finances.
Now that the sister has spoken, little sister Jamie Lynn Spears (30) chooses to follow.
– I have not done it before, because I have thought that my sister can speak for herself, she begins.
– I love my sister, and have done so since the day I was born. I just care that she is well, she says in a video she has posted on her own instagram-profile Monday.
She also says she has encouraged her sister to take action on the guardianship situation earlier.
– I am so happy that she is now consulting again, as I asked her to do many years ago. I’m very proud of her for taking that step. I support her one hundred percent, she says.
There have also been rumors that both the father and the little sister have exploited the pop star financially. She denies this.
– I have paid my own bills since I was 10 years old, she says.
After the court hearing last week, Spears was asked to formulate a claim to revoke the guardianship, and submit it to the court. She clearly stated that she should do so.
No new date has yet been set for a new court hearing.
