Singer Britney Spears has Saturday evening via Instagram the sad news that she and her partner Sam have lost their baby. The singer had recently announced that she was pregnant.

“It is with great sadness that we have to announce that we lost our miracle baby early in the pregnancy,” Spears wrote on Instagram. “This is a very difficult time for any parent going through this. Maybe we should have waited until the pregnancy was announced enough but we were so happy to share the good news.”
The singer then refers to the love that she and Sam have for each other. “We will continue to try to expand our beautiful family. We are very grateful for your support. We would like to ask you to respect our privacy during these difficult times.” Britney’s future husband Sam also commented on the Instagram post: “We’ll have our miracle soon.” He shared the same message as the singer on his Instagram profile.
