Britney Spears’ Highly Anticipated Memoir, “The Woman in Me,” Set to Release Tomorrow

Two years after Britney Spears was freed from her father’s custody, the 41-year-old singer is preparing to reveal exciting facts from her life, in a book of memoirs that arouses great anticipation.

The book “The Woman in Me” will be released tomorrow, Tuesday, in about 20 countries, where it has been translated into about 10 languages.

The text of the book was kept very secret by the Simon & Schuster publishing house, which, according to American media, paid more than $15 million to obtain the rights.

The singer told People magazine, which on Tuesday published the first pages of the book of confessions, which is expected to have a strong impact, that “reliving the events was exciting, heartbreaking, and moving.”

She added, “For all these reasons, I will only read a small part of my book,” while actress Michelle Williams will read the rest.

A few days before its release, the book reached the top of sales through the pre-order feature on Amazon in the United States and France.

The publication of promotional excerpts from the work caused many reactions.

The singer, known for many hit songs, including “Toxic,” revealed according to these excerpts that she had an abortion between 1999 and 2002. “This was one of the most difficult things I have ever experienced in my life,” she wrote, adding, “If the decision had been up to me, I would not have done it.”

Through her Instagram account, where she speaks briefly in video clips showing her dancing among the furniture in the house, the pop star explained to her more than 42 million followers that “there are many things that are difficult to read in the press about the book.” “Nothing matters anymore at this point,” she added.

Britney Spears’s words come two years after ending the guardianship that her father began exercising over her in 2008 when she was going through deep depression, due to her separation from her then husband, Kevin Federline, with whom she had two sons.

The star married again in June 2022 to Sam Asghari, before the latter filed for divorce from her 14 months later.

The book will also discuss the story of the rise of this star who comes from very humble backgrounds, without hiding her setbacks. For the artist’s fans, the memoir offers hope that they will understand the course of this broken life.

Britney Spears began her artistic career at the age of twelve, with the “Mickey Mouse Club.” At the age of approximately 17 years, Spears achieved international fame with the song “Baby One More Time,” from an album bearing the same title that included songs that gained widespread fame, including “Crazy.”

Eight more albums followed, notably Oops I did it Again, which sold 25 million copies, or In the Zone (10 million albums sold). Britney Spears was distinguished by her remarkable artistic performances during concerts, and she undertook huge global tours.

In 2001, Britney Spears performed “The Way You Make Me Feel” by pop legend Michael Jackson (1958-2009) alongside the superstar.

At a stage during which she was the subject of intense public follow-up and constant pursuit by celebrity photo hunters, Britney Spears went through a decline in her career in 2007. Pictures of her shaving her head in a hair salon spread around the world. In 2008, she was placed under the guardianship of her father, who continued to control every aspect of her life until 2021.

In 2014, Britney began performing regularly in Las Vegas, which included more than 200 performances over four years. But things deteriorated again in 2019 when she was forcibly admitted to a rehabilitation center. This sparked a state of mobilization among her fans, in addition to supportive press investigations, to call for “Free Britney” #FreeBritney.

In 2021, after the singer asked the judges to “give her back her life,” the court issued a decision to end her conservatorship.
