It’s not going well for Britney. The pop star was told during a closed session last Wednesday that she will remain under guardianship until September 2021, reports Entertainment Tonight. Jamie Spears, the 39-year-old’s father, will thus remain the supervisor of her life even longer. He has been since 2008, after Britney was forcibly admitted to a mental institution. Plus, she lost the right to see her sons Sean and Jayden alone.

Jamie and a lawyer deal with the decisions in Britney’s life. That means that they are in control of her finances, health, business deals and her personal life. It has been receiving a lot of criticism from Britney’s fans lately and she seems to be done with it after twelve years. The singer has not spoken to her father for months, said Jamie. “I love my daughter and I miss her very much,” he told CNN.

“When a family member needs special needs and care, you try to solve it as a family,” Jamie continues. “I have done that for the past twelve years and will continue to do so.” His lawyer claims that Britney’s lawyer team is preventing her from reaching out to her father. The pop star’s team claims she’s “scared” of Jamie and refuses to act as long as he’s in control. The battle between Britney and Jamie thus continues calmly, at least until September 3, 2021.
