Britney Spears was seen smoking a cigarette while driving to her home in Thousand Oaks, Calif., On Friday. Photos of the pop star in a car have surfaced after her father Jamie Spears’ surprising decision to step down as curator of the Spears estate. The Guardianship was created in 2008, and Spears recently stepped up his fight to remove Jamie over the summer.
On Saturday, the Daily Mail posted pictures of Spears driving his car, driving around his house. She rolled the window on the driver’s side down a bit while she smoked. In one photo, Spears is seen throwing ashes out the window. Spears was also seen going to a convenience store to buy a soda.
Spears, 39, has previously been seen smoking in paparazzi photos, although Spears has never shared photos of her doing so on her own social media pages. In a 2002 interview with PEOPLE magazine, Spears, then 20, admitted to experimenting. “I drink,” said Spears, then 20. “Smoking, drinking, having sex, why is that so important to me? At 20, you grow up, you experiment. I never wanted to hide who I was, but until about a year ago I was trying to adjust. an image and try to be someone I wasn’t. ” However, she claimed that a paparazzi photo of her with a cigarette at the time showed her holding one for a friend.
Jamie’s attorney on Thursday filed legal documents announcing his intention to step down from guardianship once a new curator is found. Although Jamie’s attorney argued that there was “no real reason” to remove Jamie from guardianship, he agreed to resign. “Even though Mr. Spears is the constant target of unwarranted attacks, he does not think that a public battle with his daughter over his continued service as a Conservative would be in his best interest,” the file said. “So even though he has to challenge this unwarranted petition for his dismissal, Mr. Spears intends to work with the court and his daughter’s new lawyer to prepare for an orderly transition to a new Tory.”
Spears’ new attorney, Mathew Rosengart, was happy with Jamie’s decision, but said his legal team was disappointed that he was continuing “shameful and reprehensible attacks” against Spears and others by denying their past allegations. Rosengart has promised to continue investigating Jamie’s handling of the guardianship. “We look forward to continuing our thorough investigation into the conduct of Mr. Spears and others over the past 13 years as he raised millions of dollars from his daughter’s estate, and look forward to to take Mr. Spears’ affidavit in the near future, ”Rosengart told TMZ, adding that Jamie should step down immediately.
Spears, who was on vacation in Maui earlier this week, appeared to be celebrating the news with her recent Instagram posts. On Thursday, she shared a one-minute video of herself dancing. “You can see the last dance in [the] red top I hesitate a lot when I dance… but letting go is freedom ”, she wrote in the caption. “I don’t know exactly why I’m so careful… maybe my left foot that was broken is talking to me !!!! You can tell when I turn around, but I hope I let go all the way and get on with it soon. ”
