Britney Spears calls her little sister’s TV interview a PR stunt

In a tearful interview with «Good Morning America“Zoey 101” star Jamie Spears (30) opens up about the difficult family situation she is in, and about her relationship with big sister Britney Spears (40).

Had a good relationship growing up

In the interview, she says that the Spears sisters had a close bond while growing up.

– I felt she was like an extra mother, says Jamie Spears in the interview.

Furthermore, the 30-year-old says that she was happy on behalf of her sister, then the father of Britney Spears was deprived of the role of guardian.

– When it came into place, I was 17 years old, and would soon have children. I did not understand what was happening. I was not focused on that either. I was focused on being 17 years old and having children. I understood as little of it then, as what I do now, she says.

– My sister once asked me if I could make sure her sons got what they needed. Regardless of whether she was under guardianship or not, I thought it was a completely natural thing, she continues.

Claims she tried to help her sister out of custody

Britney Spears’ fans have attacked Jamie Spears on the Internet on several occasions, accusing her of not supporting the pop star through her 13-year guardianship.

Jamie Spears claims the opposite, and believes that she even tried to help the pop star get out of it.

– I have always been my sister’s biggest supporter. So when she needed help, I tried to find a way to do it. I did everything I could to make sure she had the contacts she needed to get out of custody, she says.

Furthermore, Jamie Spears says that she still feels love for her big sister.

– I love my sister. I have always loved and supported her, and done what is right for her. She knows that, so I do not know why we are in this position now, she says.

Britney calls it a PR stunt

On Twitter, Britney Spears tells what she thinks of her sister’s TV interview, and claims that it’s all a PR stunt to sell more books.

Jamie Spears is currently in the book with “Things I Should Have Said”.

– Two things that bother me is that my sister says I was out of control. She was not much around me 15 years ago at that time. So why are they talking about it, unless she wants to sell the book at my expense, Britney Spears writes on Twitter.

The pop star has previously said that she was very upset when her little sister performed several of her songs, during the Radio Disney Awards in 2017.

– I know it sounds silly, but I wrote many of my songs when my sister was a baby. She has never had to work for anything, writes Britney Spears, while Jamie Spears claims that this is not true in a post on Instagram.

Furthermore, Britney Spears informs the fans that she will take a break from Instagram for a while.
