A small miracle in this corona crisis: a British woman who was in hospital with Covid-19 gave birth to twins during her four-week coma. When she regained consciousness 16 days after the Caesarean section, the doctors told about her offspring. “I couldn’t believe it,” said mother Perpetual Uke, who works as a rheumatism expert at a Birmingham hospital.

The woman saw that her pregnancy belly was gone, and therefore assumed that her children had died. The children were born on April 10, but the remarkable story was only now revealed. Uke was 26 weeks pregnant. The girl weighed barely 770 grams at birth, the boy a little more at 850 grams. The twins were allowed to leave the hospital after 116 days. The wife and her husband have two more children.
