“The destroyer was just a provocation tool and Vladimir Putin explained that thus some weak points were heard in both the border integrity monitoring system and the response system. This was a deliberate and well-planned provocation,” he continued.

However, Peskov said he too agreed with the scenario in which the foreign ship would be sunk. However, he stressed the response would be very harsh if there was a violation, without specifying the type of reaction.
“And most importantly, as Putin said, that the information obtained by the reconnaissance planes is not information they want to get, but this is information that the Russian side thinks it needs to be given,” he said.
