British Tourists Drain Plane of Alcohol in 25 Minutes en Route to Turkey

But someone was thirsty! British tourists are said to have drunk all their alcohol supplies after just 25 minutes on a flight to Turkey. The trip was supposed to take four hours!

British tourists drink an entire empty plane in 25 minutes

The managing director of the German-Turkish airline SunExpress, Max Kownatzki, recently described the crazy drinking trip to the British tourism industry service TTG. “We ran out of beer and wine 25 minutes after kick-off, which we haven’t done at any other market.” What was especially surprising, the tourists had flown to Turkey to play golf!

According to the CEO of the airline, this is the first time such a situation has happened, but they have responded to it. British tourists are definitely more hedonistic than others. Brits are also more willing to spend money on their trips.

SunExpress has only been flying to Turkey from Britain since 2022. So far, Germany, Austria and Switzerland are the biggest markets for the Turkish-German company. But the airline is currently expanding in Britain.

Turkey will become more attractive to the British after Brexit

British tourists, meanwhile, seem to be enjoying Turkey more. Although extreme inflation worries the citizens of Turkey, it makes the country itself a complete travel bargain. In addition, since Britain left the European Union, British visitors have to avoid many of the benefits of EU citizens in EU states. Therefore the stay in the Schengen area is usually limited to 90 days.

Many Britons travel to Spain, Bulgaria, Cyprus or Malta. But Turkey is preparing to take more market share from European holiday destinations. The weather in sunny cities like Antalya or Alanya is always better than in rainy England.
