Eight remaining victims were taken to hospital. According to Italian media reports, one of the dead was a cruise ship chef whose body was found in the hull of the ship.

Italian firefighters said their divers had reached the ship’s hull at a depth of 49 meters below sea level. The group also used helicopters to support search operations, as reported by CNN, on Tuesday (20/8/2024).

The UK’s Maritime Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB) also sent four investigators to Palermo to carry out an initial assessment. The cruise ship Bayesian is actually British-flagged and owned by the company Revtom Ltd., in which Bacares is the main shareholder.

Before a cruise ship A Bayesian sink, a small tornado called a waterspout forms in the area around which it is anchored. Another big storm around Sicily brought heavy rain on Sunday night, dumping more than 100 mm of rain in less than four hours in Brolo, Palermo.

Most of the cruise ship’s passengers and crew were British nationals, with the other passengers British-French (two), Irish (one) and Sri Lankan (one).

Lynch he himself is a very famous technology boss in England. He founded the software company Autonomy from research he started at the University of Cambridge, known as Britain’s Bill Gates.

He sold Autonomy to HP for USD 11 billion in 2011. However, this acquisition did not go smoothly after HP accused Lynch of fraud. After going through a series of trials over the past ten years, Lynch was found not guilty by a jury.
