The appeals court in London has rejected the appeal of a British tabloid, which had been convicted of violating Meghan Markle’s privacy. The tabloid had published a letter from Prince Harry’s wife to her father.

The publisher of the Mail On Sunday, the Associated Newspapers Limited (ANL), had appealed the conviction. However, that was rejected. The court affirms the judge’s earlier decision that the Duchess of Sussex may reasonably expect her private life to be respected.
“This is a victory for me, as well as for anyone who has ever been afraid to defend what is right,” Markle said in a statement. “What matters most is that collectively we are now brave enough to reshape a tabloid industry, one that encourages people to be cruel and take advantage of the lies and pain they create.”
