The incident occurred during a royal visit to the city of York in the north of England. None of the four eggs thrown hit the royal couple. The 20-year-old, who had also shouted “this country is built on the blood of slaves”, was booed by the audience who sang, among other things, “God save the king”.
The student was immediately arrested and has now been released on bail. He has to comply with a number of conditions: for example, he cannot get closer than 500 meters to King Charles and not carry eggs in public. As for the latter condition, the 20-year-old, in his own words, received an exception while shopping.
