Images of Matt Hancock with his advisor spread in the British press this Friday, June 25. They gave rise to a double controversy: the Secretary of State for Health is accused of not having respected the health restrictions, and the disclosure of these images poses a security problem within the premises of the ministry.
Unsurprisingly, the scandal erupted this Friday morning with the publication of the tabloid front page The Sun, fond of the excesses of public figures. We see an image taken by a CCTV camera, apparently dated May 6, announces The Telegraph, on which the British Secretary of State for Health, Matt Hancock, is kissing his adviser, Gina Coladangelo, in the offices of the Department of Health in London.
Since then, the British press has feasted on this intrigue on three levels: the extramarital life of a politician, the non-respect of barrier gestures on the part of … the Secretary of State for Health and the question of the origin of these images, taken in the offices of the ministry.
Support from Boris Johnson
Tory minister quickly apologized, but only for breaking social distancing rules, laughs The Sun. He also explained that he would not resign from his post as Secretary of State for Health, responsible for managing the Covid-19 pandemic, even as concerns increase around the spread of the Delta variant in the country.
