The British royals attended the Easter service at Windsor Castle, but Queen Elizabeth II was absent, the Associated Press reported.

Queen Elizabeth II has been having a hard time moving lately.

With Prince William and Kate were two of their three children – 8-year-old Prince George and 6-year-old Princess Charlotte.

Also in St. George’s Chapel were the Queen’s youngest son, Prince Edward, his wife and children, and Prince Andrew’s daughter, Princess Eugenie.

Queen Elizabeth II, who turns 96 on Thursday, is celebrating the platinum anniversary of her 70th birthday this year. She has reduced her public appearances on medical advice since spending a day in hospital last October. Elizabeth II also contracted covid in February. Last month, however, she attended a memorial service for her husband, Prince Philip, and continues to meet diplomats and politicians virtually.

On Thursday, Elizabeth II’s grandson Prince Harry and his wife Megan visited her. They arrived in the UK together for the first time since retiring as members of the British royal family in 2020. The two are now at the Invictus Games for military veterans in the Netherlands. Harry continues to be their patron.
