British Princess Kate Middleton turns 40 today and the British royal family is celebrating with some new, beautiful portraits.

The images of the Duchess of Cambridge were taken by Paolo Roversi, a fashion photographer. The princess wears several dresses by designer Alexander McQueen. The photos will take a little journey with exhibits in Berkshire, St Andrews and Anglesey.

Those three places have special meaning for Middleton: she grew up in Berkshire, in St Andrews she went to university and met Prince William. The couple lived in Anglessy just before their wedding.
The photos will later be housed in the National Portrait Gallery in London.
