The British Prince Philip has died at the age of 99. Queen Elizabeth’s husband died at Windsor Castle this morning, Buckingham Palace reports. “It is with deep mourning that Her Majesty the Queen announces the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.”
According to the royal palace, he died peacefully 3 months before his 100th birthday. “The royal family mourns his demise along with people worldwide,” said a statement from the palace.
Details of how and when Philip will be buried have not yet been announced. The website of the British royal family has been taken down to process adjustments.
