[ロンドン 27日 ロイター] – The British Prime Minister’s office announced on the 27th that the new Prime Minister Sunak will not attend the 27th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27), which will start in Egypt next month. He has decided to focus on the medium-term financial plan to be announced in the middle of next month and on internal matters.
Shortly after taking office on the 24th, Sunak postponed the announcement of the medium-term financial plan from the end of this month to November 17th. It is urgent to restore international credit, which has been damaged by the financial market turmoil caused by the former Truss administration.
A spokesperson for the prime minister’s office said Britain will be represented at COP27 by key ministers and COP26 chairman Sharma.
Sunak said he intends to attend the Group of 20 (G20) Summit in Indonesia just days before the announcement of the medium-term financial plan.
