Paul Cattermole of the British pop group S Club 7 passed away unexpectedly on Thursday. His family reports that the cause of death is still unknown. The British musician turned 46 years old.
“Paul was found yesterday, April 6, 2023, at his home in Dorset and was pronounced dead later that afternoon,” the family shared on Friday. “While the cause of death is currently unknown, Dorset Police have confirmed there were no suspicious circumstances.”
The band reports via Twitter that they are “devastated” by the death of their “brother”. “There are no words to describe the deep sadness and loss we all feel,” the band captioned a photo of Cattermole. “We were so lucky to have him in our lives and are thankful for the great memories we have.”
Cattermole’s death comes just weeks after the announcement of a reunion of S Club 7. The pop group was founded 25 years ago. The group around Cattermole, Tina Barrett, Jon Lee, Hannah Spearritt, Bradley McIntosh, Rachel Stevens and Jo O’Meara would give eleven concerts in the United Kingdom.
The group broke through in their own country at the end of the nineties with the hit Bring It All Back. In 2000 the song also reached the Netherlands. It reached third place in the Single Top 100. After that, the group also scored hits with S Club Party in Two In A Million.
