British Navy Forced to Decommission Warships Due to Sailor Shortage and Weak Defense, Says The Telegraph

Britain is decommissioning warships due to a shortage of sailors and reassigning them to a new class of frigates. The Telegraph newspaper wrote about this.

“The British Navy has so few sailors that it is forced to decommission two warships to staff its new class of frigates,” the publication says. They also refer to data from the Ministry of Defense, where they write that the country’s Navy has the worst indicators for recruiting employees among the three departments of the department. The article notes that decommissioned ships will be disposed of or sold to allies.

Earlier, former First Sea Lord of Britain Alan West said that the United Kingdom’s Navy is too weak to provide the country’s defense. According to him, constant budget cuts have led to the fact that there are too few ships left in the British fleet to perform all tasks, reports TV channel 360.
