The British Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement stating that England plans to enforce a ban on diamond imports from Russia from January 1, 2024 onwards.

The statement stated that “The British government is introducing another law to ban diamond imports from Russia and plans to implement a ban on ancillary services related to metals, working with foreign partners.”

The ban will come into effect on January 1, 2024. Britain has also banned the export of certain products that are at risk for military and industrial use. This includes mechanical parts and electronic equipment as well.

In total, Britain has blacklisted more than 1,800 Russian individuals and companies since Russia began special military operations in Ukraine. This includes 29 banks, which account for 90% of Russia’s banking sector.
