British television crew attacked outside Kiev, the capital Ukrainea. A journalist was injured in the incident.
Reported from the news agency AFPSaturday (5/3/2022), the media where they work, Sky News recently conveyed the shooting incident that occurred early last week.
Sky News said Stuart Ramsay, the chief correspondent at Sky News, was hit by a bullet in the back on Monday (28/2) as they drove towards the capital. Ukraine.
Sky News showed footage of the attack on Friday (4/3) evening local time.
It said two of the bullets hit the camera operator’s body armor. The five crew members fled from their car and were later rescued by Ukrainian police.
According to Sky News, the reconnaissance team Russia suspected of carrying out the attack.
“Bullet scattered all over the car, tracker, windshield, plastic seats, steering wheel and dashboard shattered,” Ramsay said in a statement.
The crew is now safe and has returned to the UK, while their Ukrainian producer is with his family in Ukraine.
“The bottom line is we were very lucky,” said Ramsay.
“But thousands of Ukrainians are dying, and families are being targeted by Russian killing squads just like us, driving in family sedans and getting attacked.”
