British intelligence services do not predict a rapid advance of Russian troops in Ukraine

Russia’s offensive in the Donbass has lost momentum and is far behind schedule. Despite some initial progress, Russia has failed to achieve significant territorial gains over the past month,” the report said.

British intelligence has estimated that Russia is likely to have lost a third of the ground combat forces involved in February.

The report said Russian troops had also lost intelligence drones and mobile bridge equipment, further delaying their progress.

The report says Russian troops continue to be hampered by low morale among the troops.

British intelligence analysts believe many of these capabilities cannot be quickly replaced or restored, and this is likely to continue to hamper Russia’s operations in Ukraine.

“In the current circumstances, Russia is unlikely to accelerate its progress dramatically over the next 30 days,” the report concluded.
