“British Intelligence Report Reveals Changes in Russian Forces in Ukraine after Putin’s Visit to Occupied Territories”

This is one of the first mentions of the existence of the Dnieper Group of Forces. Russia uses the term “troop group” in a specific sense, referring to a large, specially organized operational formation, the report says.

At the start of the invasion, Russian forces were organized into groups of troops, each assigned to a different military district in Russia, such as the Western and Central Groups of Forces. The existence of the apparently new Dnieper Group of Forces indicates that the original organization of forces has changed, probably due to heavy losses, British intelligence officers emphasize.

The mission of the Dnieper Group of Forces is probably to protect the southern sector of the occupied zone, and especially the southwestern flank, which is now limited by the Dnieper River, the report says.

The White House believes that the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to the occupied territory of Ukraine means that he realizes not the best state of affairs in Russia.

Lithuanian Prime Minister Ingrida Simonyte said that Putin’s visit to the occupied territories of Ukraine propaganda tries to compare it with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky.
