British intelligence claims that Russia’s forces, during the last 30 days, have only managed to capture three kilometers of land in parts of the Donbas region.
This is considerably less than what was most likely Russia’s plan, according to the British.
Despite Russia continuing to use artillery in this area, Russia has not been able to conquer a larger area and secure significant progress, writes British intelligence in their daily update on the war on Twitter.
Furthermore, the British state that Russia’s attack on the city of Bakhmut in Donbas has been their most successful conquest to date, in the last 30 days. Nevertheless, the Russian forces only managed to conquer 10 kilometers of land during this period.

On Monday, the Pentagon stated that Russia is suffering heavy losses in Ukraine.
They estimate that up to 80,000 Russian soldiers have been killed or wounded in Ukraine since the February 24 invasion.
– I think that we can safely estimate that Russia has had 70,000 or 80,000 killed and wounded in less than six months, says US Defense Department spokesman Colin Kahl.
– The number could be somewhat lower or somewhat higher, but I think it is in that order of magnitude. That is quite remarkable as Russia has not achieved any of Vladimir Putin’s goals in Ukraine, he continues.
According to Kahl, Russia has also lost “three or four thousand” armored vehicles in Ukraine and may now be running out of precision missiles.
