British health minister: ‘Gloomy day, but don’t worry about it’ NOW

British health minister Matt Hancock calls this Sunday, when the death toll from the coronavirus in the United Kingdom passed ten thousand, a “bleak day.” He does believe that the British health care system can still handle the pandemic.

“The National Health Service has not been overburdened,” said the minister. According to Hancock, the measures, including keeping distance from one another, visibly make a difference.

Hancock announced that 2,295 beds are still available in the UK intensive care departments. There are also nearly ten thousand respirators and five thousand former healthcare workers have returned to their old jobs.

“Every day we can provide better care to patients. The amount of medical equipment is increasing every day. We are committed to providing the best possible care to as many people as possible,” said Hancock.

No date yet for Prime Minister Johnson’s return

Prime Minister Boris Johnson was one of the British corona patients who were allowed to leave the hospital on Sunday. By Friday, Johnson had already left intensive care.

According to Hancock, the prime minister was cared for during his hospitalization “as it would any other patient.”

Johnson will continue to rest on Checkers, the official estate of the British Prime Minister, in the near future. There is no date yet for when he will return to work.

VK crosses the fifth limit of ten thousand corona deaths

The official death toll from the UK’s coronavirus rose to 10,612 on Sunday. The increase of 737 was significantly smaller than the two days before.

However, the actual figure is likely to be higher, as only hospital deaths are included. In addition, it takes longer on weekends to register deaths.

The United Kingdom is the fifth country, after the United States, Italy, Spain and France, to cross the border of ten thousand corona deaths.
