LONDON – Government English through the Ministry of Defense apologized after classified documents regarding the raid on the warship HMS Defender in the Black Sea were left at a bus stop.

Junior defense minister Jeremy Quin told parliament the government was very sorry for the mistake. According to him, it was the fault of a senior ministry official.

One of the documents, found by a member of the public at a bus stop in Kent, southeast England, and handed over to BBC, marked “Secret: UK Eyes Only[Rahasia: Hanya Mata-mata Inggris]”.

BBC reported on Sunday that the pile of documents discussed a possible Russian response to a British Royal Navy warship; HMS Defender, which traveled across Ukrainian waters off the coast of Crimea.

Russia last week said it fired warning shots at the warship for violating its territorial waters. The incident further soured diplomatic relations between London and Moscow.
