British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss ran out of her office during a conversation with Russian Ambassador Andrei Kelin after the start of a special operation (SVO) in Ukraine on February 24, 2022.
The head of the Russian diplomatic mission spoke about this BBC News. Excerpts from his interview were included in the broadcaster’s new documentary.
“After listening to just a few sentences, she jumped up and disappeared. It seems to me that this is the way this lady does business,” Kelin stated.
According to him, the head of the Foreign Office did not even try to listen to his interlocutor and did not intend to delve into the essence of the situation. The diplomat noted that she only repeated her own statements as mantras “shortly and often.”
True, Truss herself gives her own version of what happened in the same film. She stated that she did not run away from the office, but on the contrary, she demanded that Kelin leave it. At the same time, she emphasized that she did this in a “harsh form,” without listening to the arguments of the Russian side, which she called “propaganda.”
As reported EADailyformerly Russian Ambassador to Great Britain Andrey Kelin stated that Moscow heard calls from London to prepare for war with Russia and took note of this.
