Moscow. 22 July. INTERFAX.RU – British Foreign Secretary James Cleverley has postponed indefinitely a visit to Beijing scheduled for late July, Bloomberg reported, citing informed sources.
One of the reasons for this decision, they called the long absence in public of Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang. The department attributed his disappearance to health problems.
The agency writes that the parties are considering alternative dates for the visit, one of the prerequisites for which is the desire of British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak to smooth out tensions with China.
The UK Foreign Office declined to comment, Bloomberg notes.
