British drug dealer arrested in Amsterdam fled for eight years

The 59-year-old fugitive Briton who was arrested in Amsterdam last Wednesday is indeed a drug dealer Mark Liscott from Birmingham. Crimesite wrote last week it was unknown whether it would be Liscott. The Amsterdam police did not want to confirm or deny this. The British National Crime Agency (NCA) apparently knew nothing about it and reported Crimesite that they were figuring it out. The news was confirmed by NCA on Wednesday afternoon.

Nine years in prison

Mark Liscott of Great Barr (Birmingham) was on the Most Wanted list in England and was sentenced to nine years in prison for hashish trafficking in 2005. After being released on parole in 2012, he fled and became involved again in drug trafficking, according to British investigative services. The British authorities previously assumed that he may have gone into hiding in the Netherlands. It appeared to be so.

Amsterdam

On Wednesday morning, the police picked up Mark Liscott after another investigation brought in concrete information that a house in the center of Amsterdam might have involved drug trafficking. When officers came to the front door, Liscott jumped from the balcony to a lower-floor balcony at the rear of the house. He carried 18,500 euros and could be arrested immediately.

68.000 euro

During the home raid in which the 59-year-old Briton stayed, about 50,000 euros in cash was found. In total, therefore, more than 68,000 euros was seized. In addition, various items related to drug trafficking were found in the home. Liscott is on suspicion of money laundering and violation of the Opium Act.

Liscott supposedly used a fake passport, apparently making his identification take longer.
