British Diary #18 2024/11/14 I ate steak at Flat Iron|Ohana

I didn’t have any special plans for today, so
In the morning, I continued to look for work.
I applied for 3 jobs today, so I’m now waiting for 4 replies.
I hope we can see the light sometime in November.

Udon for lunch. The black shichimi that I received from someone at my previous workplace is playing an excellent role.

I had promised to have dinner with a senior from my seminar at university, so we headed to King’s Cross.
When I was studying abroad, the closest dormitory to my dormitory was King’s Cross, so I felt very nostalgic!

I don’t think it used to be this sparkling. The station is still beautiful. I miss being here in the middle of the night, playfully laughing with my flatmates. We also did a little Christmas market. The way to the dormitory!

I leave the station and head to the store.
I wonder if the store that helped me back then is still there?
I would be sad if it were gone.
I walked with a little trepidation.

I had some crystal kebabs left! ! !
Thank you for taking care of me for dinner. . It’s delicious, isn’t it? .I was buying food at Tesco here! Why can’t I see inside? lol

It was a little different, but
I was happy that the stores that I cared about the most were still alive.

Then to Flat Iron.
Flat Iron is a restaurant where you can eat steak at reasonable prices.
When I was studying abroad, when my sexual desire reached its peak, I went out to eat with my friends.
delicious! ! ! I have memories of what happened.
It seems to have become even more popular in recent years, with more stores opening in London. (I don’t think there were any shops in King’s Cross at that time)

I met up with my senior and went inside.
It was dinner, but most of the time slots were fully booked, so
Even though I went at 4:30pm, it was quite crowded.
After that, the store seemed to be busy with people coming in all the time.

steak! ! Approximately 21 pounds (4,000 yen) per person with side and sauce.

I was able to meet my seniors after graduating from university,
I caught up on everything from graduation until recently.
It seems that my senior has been working hard at a foreign company since graduation.
I’m currently in London to study at graduate school.
My financial strength was so different from mine that I started to feel anxious again. .

As my values,
Salary < Degree of sympathy/challenge for what you are doing
With an overwhelming emphasis on
I’m proud of that, but
When I hear stories from people outside the company and feel the difference in economic power,
I suddenly feel impatient.

It’s not that other people don’t place importance on rewarding things, either.
I think there are many people who find it rewarding and the pay is good.
I think I just envy people like that.

Maybe to the point where I don’t think anything of it when I see other people’s situations.
I guess it’s because I don’t have confidence in my abilities or my life.
They say the neighbor’s grass looks greener, but
I think if you gain confidence, you will stop looking blue,
I think I need to be a little more specific about my values.

So, on this day, I once again feel the need for self-reflection.
Above all, it was really fun to meet you for the first time in a while, and I felt safe and had a great time.

If you bring this knife you receive when you pay to the counter, you can get a free soft serve ice cream! It says Tahitian vanilla, but it tasted like caramel and was really delicious!

It’s already cold at night in London, about 6 degrees. .
I ate ice cream there, so I was shaking really hard.
I love both meat and ice cream, so it was a happy dinner!
