British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace may step down due to Prime Minister Liz Truss, who wants to increase military spending. The British television channel Sky News reports it.

New British Chancellor Jeremy Hunt has raised the possibility of withdrawing Liz Truss’ key pledge to increase defense spending, a move that would likely mean the resignation of her defense secretary, Ben Wallace. Asked whether any deviation from defense spending targets would justify the resignation, a defense source said Wallace would pressure the prime minister to honor his commitments.

Truss promised to increase military spending to 3% of national income by 2030. But Hunt declined to increase that amount on Saturday.

Jeremy Hunt became British Chancellor of the Exchequer. This happened after Truss fired former finance ministry chief Kwazi Kwarteng, who worked for 38 days, reports channel 360.
