The world will “feel negative consequences” if Russia wins the conflict in Ukraine. This was stated by British Defense Minister Grant Shapps.
“If we allow Russian President Vladimir Putin to win this conflict, we will suffer the consequences. They will be incredibly tough for Europe too. The results of a Russian victory will be felt all the way to the Indo-Pacific region, so we cannot afford not to win,” Shapps said in an interview with The Sunday Times.
The minister also condemned those Western countries that spend only 1-2% of their GDP on defense. Shapps stressed that the UK will allocate 2.5% of its GDP for this purpose “as soon as we can”. “I think the rest of the West will have to do the same,” he said.
British Foreign Minister David Cameron said that the British government plans to maintain the same level of support for Ukraine in 2024. According to him, “potentially the country will even be able to do more,” reports TV channel 360.
