British Company Acquires Bulgarian Electronic Diary Software: What it Means for Education in Bulgaria

An English company bought the software for our electronic diaries. Some time ago, they were done through the company “Shkolo”, but after the introduction of the uniform software of the MES, it turned out that these services were unnecessary. Although they competed in quality with those of the MES.

This is how Diyan Stamatov, head of the 119th SU, commented on the decision:

In 2016, a small team started “School” and in 3 years managed to raise to a new level the effectiveness of communication with parents, assessment, traceability of everything happening at school. At the end of December 2023, “School” became part of Juniper Education – a British provider of educational software.

A successful Bulgarian product, recognized by principals, teachers, students and parents throughout the country continues its development, but in foreign hands.

What necessitates the need to sell “School” to a foreign company?

Was the product of “Shkolo” appreciated on the Bulgarian market?

What will be the consequences for Bulgarian education of the transition of “School” to the English market? I think everyone can answer these questions and raise their own.

The truth is that if the electronic diary created by “School” completely leaves the Bulgarian market, the best alternative to replace it will be the painfully familiar paper diaries.
About the creation NEISPUO… better not a word”.
