British Brexit minister Frost resigns | Abroad

Frost confirmed that he has resigned after, among others, the British newspaper Daily Mail reported that he disapproved of the “political direction” of the conservative ruling party. Johnson is said to have persuaded him to stay until January, but Frost later said his resignation is effective immediately.

The “disillusioned” Frost sees nothing in the latest corona measures, such as a vaccination pass, but he is also against tax increases and the plans for sustainability. He also said that insufficient progress had been made in consultations with the EU on the status of Northern Ireland. This British region borders EU member Ireland, but border controls are undesirable from a historical and political point of view.
